Balachow I
Ingredients
- 1 kg Mustard Oil
- 1 handful Curry Leaves
Masala
- 120 grams garlic
- 120 grams ginger
- 30 Kashmiri Chilies (whole, dried)
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seed (ground)
- 2 tbsp Mustard Seed (ground)
- 2 tsp Turmeric (powder) Recipe calls for 2 inch turmeric (ground). Rare to use fresh turmeric, and 1 inch fresh turmeric ground is roughly = 1tsp turmeric powder.
Curry
EITHER
- 3/4 kg Tomato
OR
- 1/2 bottle Vinegar No idea how big the bottle is, but i'd say 3 cups vinegar, which is = 3/4 kg.
AND
- 120 grams garlic (chopped)
- 120 grams green chili (1/2 chopped, 1/2 can't understand what he wrote, just chop them all).
- 1/4 kg dried prawns
- 3/4 tbsp salt Recipe calls for 1 dessertspoon.
- 60 grams sugar
Instructions
- Heat the oil and add the Curry Leaves
- Fry the ground masala with the oil
- Boil the tomatoes, drain and add the puree and juice to the cooked masala until thick.
- Add the chopped garlic and the green chilies.
- Cook for a few minutes and then add the prawns, salt, and sugar and cook till the oil comes to the surface (about 30 minutes).
- Bottle when cool.
